Customer Account Security Guidelines
Ensuring the security and integrity of your customer account information is one of our highest priorities. In order to accomplish this, Data393 utilizes several methods of ensuring that only authorized persons have access to your account information.
Vital to this process is the necessity for each customer to set up unique Customer Passphrases and Account Roles for all authorized persons on an account. Technical support and customer service staff will use this information to verify you or your employees when you contact us before providing any account information.
Customer Passphrase
Each user that is authorized to have any information on a customer account will be required to provide a Customer Passphrase. This passphrase and answer are completely unique to each user and are fully customizable. This passphrase will be asked for every time you request information about your account by phone. Requests made via Data393's ticketing system will be considered authorized requests due to the unique username and password feature within that tool.
Customer Account Roles
In order to provide additional account security, Data393 uses customer account roles to determine the level of authority a user has on an account. This allows our customers to assign as many users as they need while maintaining account control.
The following are the account roles that can be assigned to a user.
Customer Authority - Customer authority should be a C-level, VP or contract signing authority. This role has ultimate authority over an account with the ability to add/remove/modify product or services and change billing information. This role also has the ability to add/remove or change the role of any user on the account. There should only be one Customer Authority per account.
SPOC - Single Point of Contact. The SPOC is the primary point of contact for all day to day activities on the customer account. This role has authority to add/remove/modify products or services and change billing information. This role can also add/remove or change roles of any users on the account except for the Customer Authority.
SPOC2 - Secondary Point of Contact. The SPOC2 has all the authority of the SPOC except the ability to add/remove or change details related to the SPOC or Customer Authority.
Technical - Technical Contact. The Technical contact has authority to receive all technical information about an account, including but not limited to passwords, network, and configuration information. Technical contacts have authority to request technical assistance that can include configuration changes or modifications to existing services. Technical contacts cannot add new services to an account or remove services from an account.
Billing - Billing Contact. The Billing contact has the authority to access all information related to invoicing and product terms. Billing contacts have the authority to change billing information including billing methods, invoice type or billing contact address. Billing contacts do not have the authority to change, remove or modify services.
We appreciate your assistance and cooperation with establishing and maintaining your account security. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact Data393's customer service at cs@data393.com.
